DELIVERING SOON
Oh you sweet buttery croissants, we are BEYOND EXCITED to share our final design for 2021: WALLY THE WOMBAT AND HIS BUTTHOLE OF SECRETS!
Wally the Wombat wicker handbag is - as his name suggests! - a wicker wombat bag, but better. From the front: sweet wombat. From the back: ALL BUSINESS BABY.
Wally the Wombat is here to make a statement, and that statement is I AM HILARIOUS AND I GIVE NO SH*TS. Coz this turd shaped coin purse is MINE. But you can look at it.
Perfect for EVERYTHING. Take him EVERYWHERE. Australian? Wear your pride in this glorious example of our fauna. Not Australian? Wear him in preparation of the day you're able to visit our glorious, hilarious, bizarre and often terrifying shores.
Wally is our latest bespoke design, designed by Jasmine in Melbourne, and handmade using traditional weaving techniques by our artisans in the Philippines - Wally's primary materials are sustainably farmed and harvested rattan, leather, and a delightful polka-dotted cotton for the lining.
Please be aware Wicker Darling director/owner Jasmine is on holiday May 26 through June 20. The Wicker Darling Team will be doing their best to run the business over this time, however we may experience some delays or have to defer judgement calls on challenging matters/things outside the team's control until Jasmine has returned.

Our handbags are designed in Australia and lovingly crafted by hand by our weavers in the Philippines. As such, each and every bag will have minor differences, whether it's in the wicker, leather work, or placement of other finishings. These are not faults, but rather a signature of hand craftsmanship from natural materials, and we consider these minor differences to be what makes every bag a unique piece of art. While every effort is made to photograph the true colour of our designs, monitors may display colours differently.
Due to our bags being made-to-order, upon occasion our ateliers may need to substitute materials used in the sample designs with different materials due to supply shortages. Where this occurs, the ateliers will do their best to find the closest possible substitute, and ensure the overall design remains consistent with the sample.
Worldwide complimentary shipping is offered with all orders, and covers your tracking number and full insurance! Customs and other tariffs are the responsibility of the customer. Please email our customer service team at to discuss express shipping rates.
We ship once a week, pending Australia Post availability.
Australia Post is experiencing significant supply and postage delays, and is periodically pausing collections of mail. While we aim to post our in stock bags ASAP, please be aware postage is likely to be slower than usual as a result.
For detailed information see here.
Wicker Darling bags are woven from sustainably, ethically harvested rattan. Our ateliers source rattan from local co-ops and farms to support their communities and to minimise the distance the materials travel. Rattan is sustainably grown, harvested by hand, and by-products are composted.
Bags are handmade by traditional artisans, providing employment with a focus on marginalised communities and nurturing traditional skills and handicrafts, and fostering micro-businesses and individual artisans.
The overall aim is to reduce our environmental footprint as much as possible, and to provide meaningful, fairly paid employment opportunities to our Filipino artisans.
