Production and Delivery Updates

We are beyond delighted to introduce you all to Joan the Triceratops. Or Joanasaurus, if you prefer. Your call! Available in a bold statement pink, Joan will arrive with a bonus red silk scarf - wrap it around your hair, or wear it on Joan, and enjoy those delightful red and pink vibes!

Just as our aqua triceratops bag was named for renowned pioneer paleo Mary Anning, and Patricia was named after Patricia Vickers-Rich, an Australian Professor of Palaeontology and Palaeobiology, Joan has been named for New Zealand paleontologist Joan Wiffen - the first person to discover dinosaur fossils in New Zealand (at a time when it was commonly believed there were no dinosaur fossils to be found there!).

Product Details

Joan's measurements are approximately 21 inches from tip of nose to end of tail, 19 inches around the gut, and 10.5 inches toe to tip.

Joan has a cotton lining to take advantage of the internal shape of the bag - large enough to fit your wallet, a clutch of keys, a very large phone, those three red lipsticks you've always got in your handbag, and that random packet of doodads you know will come in handy one day!

All handbags will arrive with a hand signed collector card, a bespoke dust bag for storage, and a red silk scarf.

Pre-Order Cancellations

Please be aware that in the instance of requesting a cancellation on a pre-order, a $60AUD cancellation fee will apply to cover our administration costs. To learn more, read our full FAQs.

Handmade to Order

Our handbags are designed in Australia and lovingly crafted by hand by our weavers in the Philippines. As such, each and every bag will have minor differences, whether it's in the wicker, leather work, or placement of other finishings. These are not faults, but rather a signature of hand craftsmanship from natural materials, and we consider these minor differences to be what makes every bag a unique piece of art. While every effort is made to photograph the true colour of our designs, monitors may display colours differently.

Due to our bags being made-to-order, upon occasion our ateliers may need to substitute materials used in the sample designs with different materials due to supply shortages. Where this occurs, the ateliers will do their best to find the closest possible substitute, and ensure the overall design remains consistent with the sample.

Our Ethics

Wicker Darling bags are woven from sustainably, ethically harvested rattan. Our ateliers source rattan from local co-ops and farms to support their communities and to minimise the distance the materials travel. Rattan is sustainably grown, harvested by hand, and by-products are composted.

Bags are handmade by traditional artisans, providing employment with a focus on marginalised communities and nurturing traditional skills and handicrafts, and fostering micro-businesses and individual artisans.

The overall aim is to reduce our environmental footprint as much as possible, and to provide meaningful, fairly paid employment opportunities to our Filipino artisans.
