Australiana: The Australian Animal Purse Collection
Australia is home to an abundance of bizarre and incredible creatures - over 80% of which are unique to Australia alone. With so many fantastical Australian animals, I simply had to start an Australian animal purse collection to celebrate our uniquely Oz flora and fauna.
Meet the incredible Australian animals in our collection
Because there is such a wide variety of Australian animals to choose from, you never know what will turn up next in our Australiana collection! Of course, if you know anything about me, it’s my love of birds, which is why bird purses were some of the first Australian animals to join the bunch.
Australian birds are a colourful and personality-filled bunch, which is just a small piece of why I adore them. Take a look at our Splendid Fairywren purse or Major Mitchell Cockatoo purse and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. In fact, I love Australian birds so much that I even designed some elegant clutch purses to represent them - like our Australiana print clutch featuring a rainbow lorikeet, galah, and Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.
Australian animals simply make the most unique purses, so we certainly didn’t stop with the birds! For example, a wombat was an absolute DREAM to design a purse from. Not only is a wombat one of the cutest Australian animals, it also has a fascinating anatomy, if you know a thing or two about wombat facts. Thus, Wally Wombat and his butthole of secrets was born!
And, of course, no Australian animal purse collection would be complete without a platypus purse or saltwater crocodile purse. They simply needed to be represented for posterity in wicker form.
Australiana inspo never stops coming
There are so many more Australian animals to represent, I could never run out of inspiration in my own backyard. Cassowaries, koalas, kangaroos, quolls, and quokkas…the list goes on and on, and you never know which Australiana purse will hit the shelves next.
